SEMLA is delighted to be working in partnership with Thorntons to offer aspiring Solicitors an insight into life at one of Scotland's largest full service law firms.
Insight Event – 18 January at 6pm on Zoom
This will be an Insight Event and Application & Skills Workshop for students and graduates looking to enter the legal profession and find out more about different areas of law in practice. You will have a chance to meet some of Thornton's experienced lawyers and current Trainees to find out about their journey into the legal profession and their experience of working at a full service law firm.
Speakers include:
Gurjit Pal (Associate), Chris Phillips (Partner), Aadil Anwar (Solicitor), Kiran Bahia (Trainee Solicitor), Maryam Abdel Razik (Trainee Solicitor) & Fiona Stewart (Recruitment Manager). A number of other Trainees and members of Thornton's People Team will also be on hand to discuss application and interview tips and the skills that will help prepare you for life as a Trainee Solicitor.
Mentoring
Having a mentor already working in the legal profession can be a huge support on your journey to becoming a qualified Solicitor. Thorntons has a number of lawyers who are keen to mentor SEMLA members.
