Welcome to The Scottish Ethnic Minorities Lawyers Association
SEMLA was founded in 2017 with the support of the Law Society of Scotland and the Faculty of Advocates. It is a group focused on the support of ethnic minority lawyers and law students in Scotland.
SEMLA has pursued its aims by collaborating with some of the largest law firms in Scotland and the United Kingdom, opening doors for SEMLA’s members into workspaces, providing its members with opportunities to connect with firms and organisations to increase access to the legal profession for all talented lawyers and law students - regardless of background. Click here to join SEMLA and receive invitations to our events.
SEMLA is not funded and relies on its Committee for the vision and delivery of its ambitions, for arranging events and supporting members. The Committee welcomes the support of law firms and organisations in supporting SEMLA’s work. If you are interested in SEMLA’s work please get in touch.
